Around 11 this morning a group of about 12 white-winged crossbills alighted briefly at the parking lot of the Lambton Heritage Museum on Highway 21 just south of Grand Bend. They then continued southwards. Other birds of note in the area: Kettle Point: 6 bald eagles at the same time, three on the rocks and three in the air;all three scoters, 6 brant heading north. Even with strong north winds there appeared to be little migration occurring, as much was flying north as south. Pinery PP feeders: pine siskin, purple finch,5 tufted titmouse, plus a fox sparrow on Riverside trail. Grand Bend: lots of ducks, 40 sandhill cranes heading south, northern shrike.
