Greetings all,
This morning while sea-watching from the High Bluff Campground at
Presqu'ile around 8 a.m. I had a stunning dark morph Gyrfalcon flying
out over Lake Ontario. It came from the east, flew around Gull Is.
making passes at a some gulls and ducks, then vanished. Several of us
relocated it sitting up in a large tree on High Bluff Is. but lost it
again when it flew around 9 a.m. It may well be in the area still.
In spite of a lot of sea-watching, no Sandy pelagics have been found
here yet, although there are big numbers of Long-tailed Ducks and Rb
Mergansers moving around.
Cheers,
Doug
