Lots of activity Friday through today up here in the near north. A light snowfall yesterday brought many birds to the property.
Highlights: Evening Grosbeaks, Pine Siskins and WW Crossbils everyday in small numbers Pine Grosbeak (2 on Sunday) Common Loons (24 and 6 Friday and Saturday respectively - Friday birds were flying due south and Saturday birds flying southest) Red-throated Loon (1 on Saturday) Golden Eagle (1 - 2nd winter bird Saturday) Rough-legged Hawk (one each on Friday and Saturday - light morphs) Red-shouldered Hawk (1 adult on Friday) Snow Goose (1 white morph Saturday) Sandhill Crane (3 on Saturday flying ENE) Fox Sparrow (1 on Friday and Saturday) Herring Gulls on the move Saturday as were some Canadas all sightings near Lakeridge and Reach St. Scugog Twp.
