Ives Scholten and I birded the park today and found two female Barrow's Golden in larger flock of 40 Common Golden rafting about 70 off the shoreline. We both scoped the birds for about 10 minutes. The deciding factors of BAGO vs COGO were head color (darker brown); head shape (steeper forehead and flatter and more angular top of head); and bill (mostly yellow but blending to light brown at the base of the bill). They were a little west of where the west parking park ends; more behind the Suncor office building. We failed find the Purple Sandpiper and male Harlequin Duck just west of here in Arkendo Park so were searching here for both of these and none were located after an intensive search.

Directions:
Lakeside Park is located south off Lakeshore between Southdown Road and Winston Churchill. Park at the west parking closer to Winston Churchill.
