Observation start time: 08:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Jonathan Stein

Observers: Fred Kirn

Visitors:
Rodney Laura, Mark Wloch, Steve Zulczyk and Mary Zulczyk.

Weather:
Cloud cover was total up until the early afternoon when the sky began to
clear a bit. Temperatures were in the 30s. Wind was near nonexistent. When
there was wind, it was very light and out of the east and southeast.

Raptor Observations:
Similar to yesterday, movement was minimal during an overcast morning. But
once a touch of blue began to peek through in the afternoon, there was a
fair number of Golden Eagles, Red-tailed Hawks and Red-shouldered Hawks
shooting through, mostly very high. Also of note: a Golden Eagle, our first
bird of the day, flew in and perched nearby for a while in the morning,
offering up nice scope looks.

Non-raptor Observations:
When we arrived, a Great Black-backed Gull was picking at a floating
carcass in the channel. Thousands of American Coot, hundreds of Ruddy Duck
and dozens of Bufflehead can currently be seen from the Cove Point Picnic
Area. American Tree Sparrow, Pine Siskin, Yellow-rumped Warbler and
Golden-crowned Kinglet were noted in the trees near the count site.
American Crows (3500+) and Red-winged Blackbirds (700+) were moving
throughout the day.

Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with highs in the 40s and light northeast wind.
