Hi Ontbirders:

The Northern Hawk Owl was seen from 2pm until at least 4pm. I wasn't paying
much attention to the owl after 4pm. It spent the majority of its time on the
east side of the road. It flew to a number of perches including right
alongside the road. I saw it fly down in search of prey a number of times,
mostly coming up empty-handed. A Hairy Woodpecker flew over to harass the owl
and this made the owl fly to another perch. The woodpecker followed but soon
flew away. Late in the day, I saw approximately 18 wild turkeys in the fields
along Earle Armstrong Road just off Bowesville. Happy birding.

If you go.
Bowesville is a narrow two lane road (one lane each way) with a bicycle lane on
either side. Right next to the bicycle lane is a narrow 1/4 shoulder that
slopes down gradually but steeply. Traffic can be very fast moving along this
stretch of Bowesville. There is a spot to pull off the road but it's only wide
enough for a few cars.
