Weather: Like yesterday, it was overcast early with considerable clearing occurring as the day wore on. Fog was less of an issue but there was still a fair amount of haze obscuring the Canadian shoreline. The wind was light and out of the southeast. Raptor Observations: Not much was flying. From what I'm told, the goshawk crossed very close, offering up great looks. Non-raptor Observations: Birds: Tundra Swan (13), Rusty Blackbird (1), Bonaparte's Gull (25+), Pine Siskin (60+), Tree Swallow (1). Mammal: American Mink (1). Predictions: Mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s and strong south wind. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
