Weather: A gorgeous November day at the park: mostly blue skies with some high cirrus, mild temperatures and moderate south wind. Raptor Observations: It was extremely quiet raptor-wise. For a third day in a row, there was almost nothing moving. If not for a lone adult Sharpie, we would have been shut out. Non-raptor Observations: White-winged Crossbill and Lapland Longspur were heard overhead. Also noted: American Goldfinch (50+), Pine Siskin (30+), Horned Lark (20+), American Pipit (2), Tree Swallow (3) and Northern Rough-winged Swallow (1). Predictions: There is a 100 percent chance of rain through the afternoon. A hawk count appears unlikely. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
