Observation start time: 08:30:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Justin Bosler

Observers: Gwen Patrick, Jim McCoy

Visitors:
There were 6 visitors today. One gentleman from Cochran, Ontario was happy
to see most any birds since he noted 'they have all left Cochran'.

Weather:
A high pressure system dominated the weather today with 30.14 in Hg. What
little wind varied from calm (0) to just above 6 km/h. When it did blow it
was unsteady from the ENE clock-wise to SSW, ending finally from the SSE.
Cloud cover ranged from 0%-15% . These conditions are usually termed a
“Bluebird” sky or day. The viewing of raptors at high altitudes is
difficult because of the lack of clouds and the birds disappear into the
‘blue’.

Raptor Observations:
Not much to note. Red-tails were dominant at 11.

Non-raptor Observations:
Common Redpolls weighted in at 125 individuals and American Goldfinches at
158. Others: American Robin-20, Eastern Bluebird-9, Red-winged
Blackbird-10, Yellow-rumped Warbler-2, Purple Finch-1, Pine Siskin-8,
White-winged Crossbill-16.

No finches after the noon hour.

Predictions:
Partly cloudy. Fog early. High of 59F. Winds from the SSW at 10 to 15 mph.
In the evening a chance of rain 20%.

Turkeys beware! This may be an unfortunate day for you in the U.S.
