Hi Ont Birders ; I was attracted to a patch of Wild Primrose by a flock of
White-winged Crossbills. As I was immersed in photographing eye to eye a
mixed flock of Redpolls and Goldfinch joined the crowd. Much to my delight
there was a Hoary among them. It was obviously frostier on the back and
could easily be picked out of the flock. The sides and undertail were
almost lacking of barring. Bohemian Waxwings are around town raiding any
trees with fruit. A Red-necked Grebe has been in the Kincardine harbor for
a week. Cheers James

Directions; Kincardine is where highways 21 and 9 meet. The Crossbills and
Redpolls were at Boiler Beach. Turn west off highway 21 on Bruce Avenue.
Follow to the lake. Go down the hill and get on to Boiler Beach Road and
stop at the first beach access. The Finches were feeding on the Primrose in
the dunes at the north end of the sand beach. You are in the right place if
you are near the old boiler stuck in the sand.
