The male Surf Scoter reported yesterday at Humber Bay West was present today,
amidst about 100 Redhead and close to 2000 Greater Scaup. 2 Horned Grebes were
also present there. Humber Bay West is on the lakeshore just west of Park
Lawn. At Arkendo Park in Oakville (foot of Arkendo St.), I was only able to
find one Harlequin Duck, a male. There were around 200 White-winged Scoters
among thousands of Long-tailed Ducks on the lake between Grey's Road and Green
Road in Hamilton, and at least 1 Surf Scoter. I was at 878 Sulphur Spring Road
between 4:30 and 4:55 P.M. hoping to see the Black Vulture, but was
unsuccessful.
