Hi birders, This morning I found an adult GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GOOSE at the South end of Columbia Lake. It was sleeping with a group of about 30 Canada Geese. This is the 4th or 5th record for the county, and may be the same bird that was seen at nearby Laurel Creek on October 26th...
The bird was in the same location at 2:30 pm. Yesterday, at the same location, was a CACKLING GOOSE, 1st winter ICELAND GULL, and probable NELSON'S GULL (Glaucous x Herring hybrid) among the 300+ gulls. I will post a photo on my blog later this evening. I will post on this forum if the bird is re-found over the next few days: http://www.nbest.ca/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=ce48d13747f7fe37e34acd2551213749 Good luck, Alvan www.alvanbuckley.blogspot.com Directions: Take exit 278 from the 401.
