Birders-

A first-winter male Harlequin Duck was cruising the Deschenes Rapids in the
Ottawa River at noon today, visible from the Britannia Filtration Plant at the
end of Cassels Street.  Maybe it is the same bird that has been downstream at
Bate Island over the past few days, or possibly a second bird.

At Andrew Haydon Park on Carling Road, just west of the Britannia area, the
previously reported Iceland Gull was still present, and a second Iceland was in
a raft of gulls visible from the park out in the river.  Three 1st winter
Glaucous Gulls were also rafted up in the river with about 50 Herring Gulls and
10 Great Black-backed Gulls.
