The first winter male HARLEQUIN DUCK was last reported on the 24th on the 
Ottawa River rapids north of Bate Island just east of the Champlain Bridge. On 
the 23rd two first winter male HARLEQUIN DUCK were seen at the same location. 
One or both birds are likely to be still present.

The recent heavy snowfall has pushed many birds to residential feeders. Along 
with the expected feeder visitors single WHITE-THROATED SPARROW have also been 
reported at feeders in several locations. COMMON REDPOLL have been found at 
many feeders along with a few HOARY REDPOLL.
 
Other interesting sighting were;
- AMERICAN ROBIN flew over Barrhaven on the 22nd
- BOHEMIAN WAXWING (80) and SNOW GOOSE (16) were seen over Barrhaven on the 23rd
- PiNE GROSBEAK (15-20) near Lincoln Heights on the 23rd
- SNOW BUNTING (40) and ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK (1) on Akins Rd on the 23rd
- RED-TAILED HAWK (13) in 70 minutes in the Moodie Dr and Trail Rd area on the 
25th
- BARROW'S GOLDENEYE (1 male) continues to be seen all week near the Rideau 
River Hurdman bridge
- EVENING GROSBEAK (18) on the east end of Rd 300 and PINE GROSBEAK (5) on Neuf 
Milles/Bertrand Rd on the 27th
- NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen on Forest Water Way in Barrhaven South on the 
27th
