Today, Jan 1, Brian Moore and I found an immature grey phase Gyrfalcon on
the Thunder Bay waterfront. It was initially seen early afternoon perched on
a railing of an abandoned grain elevator; later it was hunting Rock Pigeons
along the railway tracks.

We also found the Yellow-rumped Warbler that was discovered on the Christmas
bird count Dec 26. It had been coming to a north ward Thunder Bay bird
feeder for about a month. We had a good look at it, it had a yellow throat,
indicating Audubon's race. It looked healthy, and has survived several
nights down to -22C.
