Today at around 1 pm, a flock of 20 + Bohemian Waxwings landed outside my
window at home, 140 Mann, near the corner of Range Rd. They flew off,
landed again, then flew off again. They were feeding on some small orange
berries. The location is ca. 1 km from the Hurdman Bridge as the waxwing
flies, and I wonder whether this small flock may be associated with the 120
bird flock at the Hurdman Bridge yesterday. My window looks onto the
parking lot of the Youville Centre, where a driving birder could park for a
few minutes and check the shrub row on the right. If no luck, they could
park on Mann or Range Rds., then walk through the parking lot of the
Youville Centre and out the back, down the hill onto a trail leading to the
Rideau River. Following that trail south along the river another 500 m,
past some active feeders outside the backs of homes on the right, leads to
the Hurdman Bridges, the first being Hwy 417 and the second being a foot
bridge. Yesterday the 120 BOWA were visible in the high trees on the
southeast side of the bridge.

Write to me directly for further details.
