Hi birders: While leading, along with Dan Salisbury, a Riverwood Conservancy bird walk this am (Tue Jan. 8, 2013) we noticed some nice 'year' birds at Saddington Park ( West of Credit river Mouth) in Port Credit
1- See the White-winged Crossbills( On utube)- Males, females & Juvenile were by the public bathroom(closed for the season) on the West side of Saddington Park. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svOaZMPfb1k&feature=youtu.be 2- Winter Wren- was very obliging at the same location(near bathrooms), where water enters the mouth of the West Credit River. 3- Iceland Gull- 1st year bird sitting on the ice and flying about on the shifting/melting ice floes. (GBBGulls, HEGu & RBGu were also there). 4- Peregrine Falcon- swooping down on the ducks & gulls and sitting on saplings by the marooned "boat" or on the Waterside Inn roof (east of the Harbour) 5- the usual expected ducks, with all 3 species of mergies( Hooded and Common were up river close to the Lakeshore bridge) All the best Luc Fazio, Mississauga ************************************ Directions to Saddington Park- From QEW ( east or west) go south on Mississauga Rd. . Continue past Lakeshore Bld West to Parking lot ( this is Saddington Park). Walk easterly to mouth of river and 'public' bathroom. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
