Went looking for the slaty-backed gull reported on the St. Clair River today, and found a bird that seemed to fit the description. It was seen among many other gulls just south of Courtright. Bird had a bit of streaking on the head and neck, too much for a GBBG, bird was slightly larger then a HERG. Had a slaty back, pink legs seen, they weren't extremely bright, but they were slightly brighter then a GBBGs.
Bird seen from a small parking lot about 3km south of Courtright on St. Clair Pkwy. Good Birding! Sean M.
