Hi OntBirders! I had the pleasure to visit WindReach Farms in Durham Region earlier today. The big surprise was a White-crowned Sparrow at their feeders. They said its been coming everyday for a few weeks.
The farm is located at 312 Townline Road. Quite close to Dagmar Ski Hill. Also on Townline Road about 1 km east of the farm, there was a flock of approximately 25 Bohemian Waxwings up in the trees along the north side of the road. First I have been able to see this year! One other interesting sighting was of a Northern Shrike at the corner of Concession 8 & Sideline 2. WindReach Farms would welcome visitors, if some birders would like to add a White-crowned Sparrow to their winter list. WindReach Farms please ask's that you contact them before you visit. The number is 905-655-5827 You can ask for Kate.
