An American Kestrel was observed on telephone line wires near the hamlet of Egypton Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 30) at 4:00 p.m. From the Toronto area drive Highway 48 north from Davis Drive to Smith Blvd. at the Hamlet of Baldwin, then turn right (East) drive approximately 3 kilometers to the hamlet of Egypt. Turn left, traveling north 1 kilometer (bird seen on right hand side of road) telephone lines. This bird has been seen in this general area intermittently a few days a week since late December 2012.

A Coopers hawk was observed Wednesday afternoon (Jan. 30) at 3:00 p.m., west of Sutton north off Metro Road (left turn driving west from Sutton) onto McCowan Road south 1 kilometer. bird was seen roosting in mixed forest on west side of Road observing 8 resident Mourning doves. After observing for 10 minutes, Coopers hawk flew across McCowan to the east into open field chasing doves into far forest to the east.
