Birders,

On my late afternoon walk about today,(4:00 p.m.) I spotted again an adult
Red- Shouldered Hawk perched above the frozen pond at Monarch Landing. When it
noticed me it flew low to the west.
This is the fourth observation of this bird since Jan. 24th, at
or near this location. It seems to be hunting between here and the South- Otter
creek about a km to the west.
                 There are also White-Crowned sparrow(up to 2),Field sparrow(up
to 3),and several other decent winter birds feeding at or under the feeders in
front of the building at Monarch Landing.
Monarch Landing is located one mile east of Port Burwell on
the lakeshore road. The pond is about 150 feet east past the Monarch Landing
sign beside the road and about 40 feet south of the road.
If you come you can park beside the road and walk in to the
pond area. Good birding.
