I spotted a Snowy Owl perched on a telephone pole on the north side of Barnsdale Road between Twin Elm and Moodie this afternoon around 4:40 p.m. It was completely unexpected as I was checking out the area for a possible GGO sighting from earlier on this morning along Moodie - no GGO located. The Snowy Owl took flight across Barnsdale towards a red barn as I tried to pull over to photograph it. The shoulder along Barnsdale is very narrow and banked making it impossible to pull over without getting stuck. Suggest walking in from Moodie.
Directions - Take Bankfield/Brophy exit from Hwy 416, drive west on Brophy, turn right onto Moodie then take first left onto Barnsdale. Cheers! _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
