Greetings! If you are loath to drive to Algonquin to see White-winged Crossbills then you should head out to Humber Bay East. There are about a dozen of them flying around giving great views in the Aspens (?) by the eastern pond (just east of the restrooms). There was also a flock of American Tree Sparrows (and one Song Sparrow) as well they have a beautiful song.
Just to the north there is a pair of Pied-billed Grebes, Hooded Mergansers, Scaups, and the occasion Northern Pintail in the ponds and by the foot bridge. Humber Bay East is at Lakeshore Blvd and Parklawn road exit the Gardiner/QEW at Parklawn. I sent this to the old address so I hope I have not screwed up!
