Ontbirders, Around 1:45 this afternoon I witnessed a very large gathering of Wild Turkey flood a field to the west of Darlington-Clarke Townline Road just north of Nixon Road. I counted a total of 181 individuals as they continually emerged from the adjacent woodlot to the North and across the road from the East for about 20 minutes.
Taking a trip down to Bondhead/Newcastle Harbor at approximately 2:45 I was able to track down not 2 but 3 Greater White-Fronted Goose foraging on the berm between the creek and the marina along with 250+ Canada Geese as were previously reported this morning. Also of note the long staying exotic Swan Goose was also present but not associating with the Greater-White Front's. Good birding, David Szmyr _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
