An average of 15,000 hawks, eagles, falcons and vultures pass over or by Beamer Conservation Area in Grimsby every spring between 1 March and 15 May. The Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch, now in its 39th year of monitoring these birds, would like to increase its roster of counters to ensure the continuation of the count.
Birders who would first like to learn to identify the various birds and then assist with counts are invited to special Raptor Identification Workshop sessions being held this Saturday and Sunday, 23-24 March 2013, from 9AM to 3PM at Beamer CA. Female birders of all ages and young birders of both genders are particularly encouraged to come out. For more information about the Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch and directions to Beamer CA, go to our newly updated website: http://www.niagarapeninsulahawkwatch.org/ If you have a question please reply to me personally, not to the group. Thank you.
