In the first harbour cell just west of the last parking lot off of Kipling Ave, 
unafraid, it was > ten metres off shore. I'm not certain it is a black scoter 
because of its' bill, which is mostly blue, except near the end where itchanges 
colour. It appeared to have a distinctive Cyclops eye at the of its' bill, 
which was not mentioned as a field mark in the two guides I consulted (National 
Geographic and Birds of Ontario). Had a nice habit of hopping totally out of 
the water to dive. Col Sam Smith Park is at the base of Kipling Ave on Lake 
Ontario in Toronto.
