Hi Birders, Today ( Friday 29/03) at 6 p.m., one Virginia Rail has been spotted on the East shore of Topham Pond at Eglinton Flats. I watched the bird from a distance of 10 meters ( for about 2 minutes), and I had just packed my camera 3 minutes earlier! Half an hour later, I recorded its typical voice.
Since 2002, I have noted over 130 species at Eglinton Flats, Virginia Rail for first time, today. Directions: Eglinton Flats is located at the South-East corner of the Eglinton Ave. and Jane St. intersection. Good Birding, Jacek Pawlikowski PS There were 14 other usual species, including Common Grackle, first appearance of the year. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
