The annual meeting of the Ontario Bird Records Committee (OBRC) was held on April 7th, 2013. At this meeting, the minutes of the 2013 OBRC Policy Meeting were formally accepted, and can be emailed to anyone upon request. We also formally adopted many changes to the OBRC Operating Guidelines, the first such adoptions since 2006. A copy of the 2013 guidelines is available to anyone as well; upon e-mail request. At this meeting the 3 year terms as voting OBRC members for both Don Sutherland and myself ended. The OBRC has elected Bruce DiLabio and Ron Ridout to 3 year terms as our replacements. In the last year of his current 3 year term as a voting member, Mike Burrell will assume the Chairperson role. The remaining voting members are Doug McRae, Ken Burrell, Peter Burke and Mark Gawn. Mark Peck will continue as the non-voting Royal Ontario Museum Liaison. On behalf of the rest of the committee, I would like to thank Don Sutherland for his continued service on the OBRC for the past three years. In 2013, I will be taking over for Mark Cranford as non-voting Secretary. Barb Charlton will be assuming the role of non-voting Assistant to the Secretary from Alan Wormington. Both Mark (4 years) and Alan (6 years) have spent an incredible amount of time fulfilling their duties in these positions with the OBRC. I would like to extend the gratitude of everyone who has served on the OBRC over the past several years to Mark and Alan for their hard work in ensuring things operated smoothly and efficiently over that time.
