Hi Ontbirders, There were still large numbers of Snow Geese 10 000+ at Alfred Sewage Lagoons this afternoon. Many dark morphs were in the flock. I checked for any likely candidates for Ross's and Cackling but no such luck today. Of note there were:
Pied-billed Grebe Red-breasted Merganser Ring-necked Duck Lesser Scaup Bufflehead Redhead Ruddy Duck American Wigeon Northern Shoveler Northern Pintail Green-winged Teal American Coot Barn Swallow Savannah Sparrow Horned Lark Directions to Alfred Sewage Lagoons: >From Ottawa head (east) on the 17 until Peat Moss Rd. Turn right (south) and >continue until you see the car park and observation deck on your left. I believe the lagoons are private property, however, you can still observe both the cells from the observation tower. Good birding, Alex Stone Ottawa, ON [email protected] _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
