Hey Ontbirders, Long time, no see!
What I did see this afternoon was a flock of 19 Willet at the main shorebird cell at Hillman Marsh. Also present were two Long-billed Dowitchers (both looked to be females). The other shorebirds consisted of mostly Dunlin with a few of both Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs. Many of both teal and shoveler were present as well. This morning at Erieau I had an adult Little Gull flying around close to shore at the docks which looked to have had a sizeable pink streamer coming from its back. Upon closely inspecting photos, this looks as if it had been intentionally placed there. If anyone knows why or to whom this information would be useful, please don't hesitate to contact me. I have photos. It was bizarre to say the least! Rondeau peaked for me this morning at Blue-winged Warbler and Red-headed Woodpecker at South Point Trail. It was pretty quiet. I heard some OFOers talking of seeing the Yellow-throated Warbler coming to the feeders at the visitor centre today. Good Birding! Lev Frid Hillman Marsh is located at County Roads 19 and 37 half way between Wheatley and Leamington, and north of Point Pelee National Park. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
