While everyone was busy looking for the white-eyed vireo, I walked most of the Spit and came up with some interesting birds: Coot Kingfisher White-winger scoters Lovely relaxed Peregrine resting on a wide-open branch for a long time for great photos Eastern Towhee Hermit Thrush Yellow rumped warbler Saw Whet Owl Long Eared owl Canvasbacks Red heads Common loon Trumpeter swans (untagged) Shovellers Greater yellowlegs Spotted sandpiper Barn and tree swallows Brown thrashers White throated sparrows Juncos And of course all of the other usual suspects. I know they aren’t super unusual but my list total was 53, so I thought it was a pretty good day. And there was a Snow Goose at Bluffers Park on Friday. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
