This morning I saw one red-necked grebe with two horned grebes on Dow's Lake in Ottawa. The birds were near the little peninsula that juts into the lake and were visible from the Queen Elizabeth Driveway. (Although viewing was best from the peninsula, which is off the bike path.)
Directions: Dow's Lake is adjacent to a portion of the Queen Elizabeth Driveway, to its intersection with Preston Street. (South of this intersection, Queen Elizabeth Dr. becomes Prince of Wales Dr.) Parking is available at the adjacent arboretum, with the entrance off Prince-of-Wales Dr. -- Howard Youth [email protected] _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
