Hi Mark,

I wasn't sure what the policy was so I thought I'd just give it a shot.  I've
now subscribed so I'll try again to post this.  Thanks.  Here is my message
again:

Yesterday morning (May 2) was a great morning in the wet woods in the baselands
of Tommy Thompson Park.  There was a very large movement of white-throated
sparrows, and gnatcatchers, yelow-rumped and yellow warblers were present in
numbers.  Also present were nashville, palm, black-and-white and bay breasted
warblers, along with northern waterthrush (heard singing) and at least one
ovenbird.  A male rose-breasted grosbeak was feeding low in a tree, acting very
tame, and an orchard oriole was also feeding on the blossoms of the same tree.
Hermit thrush and veery were both present as well, and towhees and thrashers
were heard singing. All of these birds were seen/heard in the middle of the
baselands area, in and around the stand of tall trees which are quite
extensively flooded right now, making some of the paths difficult to navigate.

To reach Tommy Thompson Park from downtown Toronto, take the QEW or Lakeshore
east to Leslie st. and turn south on leslie st., following that to where it
ends.  Enter through the front or from the back of the baselands, accessed from
near the small bridge on Unwin ave, a little ways west of the entrance.
