Birds were quite active early this morning around inland areas, but rather quite once the day started warming up.
Activity was down a bit today in the Park, but birding is still steady. CHUCK-WILL'S-WIDOW: This bird was heard singing yesterday (5:50am) just South of the tram loop, and again in the evening just after sunset. It was not heard this morning. KENTUCKY WARBLER: A single Kentucky Warbler was seen yesterday evening at the north most picnic area in the northwest beach parking lot. It was not seen today. LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE: This bird was found this morning North of the park along Mersea Rd 12. It was near the red and white aerial antenna across from Sturgeon Woods. CERULEAN WARBLER, TENNESSEE WARBLER, multiple HOODED WARBLERS, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES, and SWAINSONS THRUSH were heard and seen singing this morning in Tildens woods. LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH: A single bird was seen along Woodland Nature Trail. While multiple NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH were heard and seen along Tildens.
