Over beach West of boat house at Darlington ParK Bruce Aikins and I (Stu Williams) observed a small flock of seven Whimbrel circle our location several times at about 60 feet altitude. One of the whimbrel displayed the upper white rump which descended into the whitish tail , characteristic of the European population of Whimbrel. The birds settled on the beach infront of us for several minutes and took flight, with a small flock of black bellied plovers, toward the Northwest. The white back descending into the whitish tail was again very obvious. Sent from my BlackBerry device on the Rogers Wireless Network
