A male PRAIRIE WARBLER was reported on the trail near the floating bridge on 
the south side of Mud Lake at the Britannia Conservation Area on the 28th. It 
was not subsequently found.
Four small flocks (8-11) of ARCTIC TERN have been seen this morning (30th) 
flying west up the Ottawa River from Britannia Point at the east end of the 
Deschenes Rapids.
A NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen by many north and east of the filtration plant 
on Cassels St near Britannia Point from the 24th to the 26th.
The male EURASIAN WIGEON seen on the Moodie Dr ponds (south of Trail Rd) since 
the 19th was last reported on the 27th but may still be present.
 
The late spring migration continues, 22 warbler species were reported in this 
week including many WILSON'S and numbers of BLACKPOLL WARBLER. 4 species of 
vireo were reported including YELLOW-THROATED at Britannia and PHILADELPHIA at 
Britannia and in the woods west of Tunney's Pasture.
There was a significant movement of flycatchers. OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHER were 
heard and seen in the south west corner of the Britannia woods from the 24th 
through the 27th, south of the Hurdman bridge on the 28th, south of the 
International Airport on the 29th and from the Mer Bleue marsh boardwalk on the 
30th. YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER (3) were heard in the south west corner of the 
Britannia Woods from the 24th through the 27th. Local flycatchers reported at 
many locations were ALDER, WILLOW, LEAST, GREAT CRESTED, EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, 
EASTERN PHOEBE and EASTERN KINGBIRD.
Sparrows have returned to the fields south of the airport at Bowesville Rd. On 
the 24th CLAY-COLOURED (1), VESPER (1), SAVANNAH (5), GRASSHOPPER (5), SONG 
(6), CHIPPING and WHITE-THROATED (1) were found as well as INDIGO BUNTING (1), 
BOBOLINK (2) and EASTERN MEADOWLARK (1). FIELD SPARROW (3)  at that location on 
the 29th.
RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER have been reported at Pakenham, near Bowesville Rd on 
the 23rd, on Ch du Heron near Lake Bernard and Low, QC on the 30th.
There have been a few shorebirds reported. On the 24th: at Embrun lagoon there 
were LEAST (50) and a few DUNLIN, at Casselman lagoon there were GREATER (1) 
and LESSER (1) YELLOWLEGS and a few LEAST and DUNLIN, at the Giroux ponds 
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER (1), SEMI-PALMATED SP (1) and a few DUNLIN and on 
Bearbrook Creek at the Frank Kenny bridge there were BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER (6). 
The March Valley ponds had; SPOTTED, LEAST (25) and WHITE-RUMPED (1) and 
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS as well as DUNLIN (2) and SEMIPALMATED PLOVER (3).  
With the cooler weather and rain on the 24th over the Ottawa River Deschenes 
rapids there were many swallows; CLIFF (150+), TREE (100+), BANK (200+), BARN 
(150+) and ROUGH-WINGED (15+) as well as PURPLE MARTIN (50+).  
 
Interesting sightings;
- WHIP-POOR-WILL (2) were heard in Marbouragh Forest on the 19th and from 
Highridge Ave on the 22nd
- CASPIAN TERN (1) was at the Moodie Dr pond on the 23rd
- BLACK TERN (7) at Petrie Island on the 24th and (20) on the 25th
- RED-NECKED PHALAROPE (f) was at the Russell Lagoon on the 27th
- BRANT (350) were seen over Mer Bleue on the 28th and one has been at Andrew 
Haydon Park lately
- COMMON NIGHTHAWK (3) over the Rideau River near Taylor Park on the 28th and 
(2) near Westgate on the 29th
- EVENING GROSBEAK were heard in Larose Forest and seen on Porcupine Trail in 
Dunrobin on the 29th
- UPLAND SANDPIPER were seen on Panmure between Ramsay Cons 12 and Ridge Rd 
near the pond and windmill on the 30th
