A female Red Crossbill just flew over the house heading south - could this be a 
scout looking to see what food might be here for the winter or was she simpy a 
post breeding wanderer? - there have been hardly any crossbills in southern 
Ontario this spring.

The bird was near Lakeridge and Reach Rds.
