  The Buffalo Bird Report is a service provided by your
  Buffalo Museum of Science and the Buffalo Ornithological

  Highlights of reports received June 20 through June 27 from
  the Niagara Frontier Region include LITTLE GULL, BLACK
  VULTURE and SANDHILL CRANES.

  June 20, at the mouth of the Niagara River at Lake Ontario,
  2 immature LITTLE GULLS with 106 BONAPARTE'S GULLS at Fort
  Niagara State Park. Up the river at Artpark in Lewiston, a
  hike along the gorge found 2 BLACK VULTURES among 30 TURKEY
  VULTURES, plus 3 CLIFF SWALLOWS.

  SANDHILL CRANE summer records continue - June 21, 3 SANDHILL
  CRANES over Tonawanda Creek Road in Lockport.

  In Wyoming County, on the salt brine property where RED-
  HEADED WDPKRS. were reported nesting last week, a pair of
  ORCHARD ORIOLES and an adult BALD EAGLE. The property is
  north of West Middlebury Road, west of Skates Hill Road.

  A productive list from the Onondaga Trial in the Iroquois
  Refuge this week, highlighted by 2 ACADIAN FLYCATCHERS and 2
  PINE WARBLERS in the Red Pines along the trail. Also, BROWN
  CREEPER, BL.-GR. GNATCATCHER, VEERY, WOOD THRUSH, CEDAR
  WAXWING, PURPLE FINCH, and six other warbler species -
  OVENBIRD, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, AMERICAN REDSTART, CERULEAN
  WARBLER, YELLOW WARBLER and BL.-THR. GREEN WARB.

  Another list of warblers from Iroquois and the surrounding
  area added BLUE-WINGED WARBLER, HOODED WARBLER, CHESTNUT-S.
  WARBLER, NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH and MAGNOLIA WARBLER, plus a
  YELLOW-B. SAPSUCKER on Bartel Road near Meadville Road. And,
  PURPLE MARTIN monitors report 91 nests with 614 hatched
  young in the refuge areas.

  The Phillips Creek Breeding Bird Survey in the northern
  Allegany County Towns of Birdsall and Grove reported 15
  COMMON RAVENS, plus GOLDEN-CR. KINGLET, WHITE-THR. SPARROW
  and 13 warbler species including PRAIRIE WARBLER, CANADA
  WARBLER, NASHVILLE WARBLER, YELLOW-R. WARBLER and PINE
  WARBLER.

  From the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, 2 TUNDRA SWANS continue
  to summer at the Mosaic Ponds north of Rock Point Park in
  Dunnville. At Rock Point, 1500 D.-CREST. CORMORANTS and 27
  CASPIAN TERNS. Also along the Lake Erie shore, AMERICAN
  WIGEON and RED-BR. MERGANSERS.

  On the Niagara River at Buffalo, on the reef lighthouse, 372
  D.-CREST. CORMORANTS with 101 nests, and another 200 D.-
  CREST. CORMORANTS on the breakwalls. 60 CLIFF SWALLOWS have
  about 100 nests on the Peace Bridge, many overtaken by HOUSE
  SPARROWS.

  GREAT EGRETS on the upper Niagara River - 82 at Strawberry
  Island and Motor Island, and 51 GREAT EGRETS, with a reduced
  count of 10 BL.-CR. NIGHT-HERONS, above the brink of the
  Canadian Falls.

  Also this week, at the Tillman Wildlife Management Area in
  Clarence, 39 species included 2 each of UPLAND SANDPIPER and
  GRASSHOPPER SPARROW. BARRED OWL calling at Hunter's Creek Park
  in the Erie County Town of Wales. And, COOPER'S HAWK by the
  parking lot at the Reinstein Preserve in Cheektowaga.

  The Bird Report will not be updated until Thursday evening,
