July 2 - I observed the colony on Weseloh Rocks (the 3 islands above the Canadian Falls near the stranded Barge) today. There were 33 Great Egrets = 28 nestlings + 5 adults and 10 egret nests. 71 Black = 3 adults and 68 immature. There were 449 cormorants on the rocks plus 55 nearby. On the smaller rocks half way between the brink of the falls and Weseloh Rocks there were 18 resting on the rocks and 30 more hovering above. In the Gorge below the Canadian Falls 30 yards down stream from the old generating buldg. was a Common Loon near the Canadian shore. In Wheatfield, New York, at the north end of Liberty Road there was the Osprey nest with an Adult and two nestlings.
