All,

After a tip from Eric Jeffery that the east end of Wildwood Lake finally had
some shorebird mud, I checked things out today. Conditions south of the
Impoundment Dyke are exceptional, with acres [hectares?] of fresh mudflats and
an est. 700 shorebirds - mostly Lesser Yellowlegs [150] and Killdeer [300], but
with many other species mixed in - lots of very fresh juveniles. Best birds
were 3 Stilt Sandpiper, one Baird's and one juvenile Wilson's Phalarope - not
great I know but more eyes may mean better records to come.

Also present were 5 [unbanded] Great Egret and an adult Bald Eagle and Merlin
keeping everyone on their toes.....
To reach the lake, take CR 6 north from the 401 to CR 28. Go west through
Harrington and take the 1st right [31st Line] down 500 m. to the steel armco
barrier on your right [east]. Best views are from here - down the bank a bit -
or continue another 200 m to the Ducks Unlimited entrance.
Cheers,
