Hi Ontbirders,

Today I headed up for my 3rd try at Buff-breasted Sandpiper and finally
found one (Burke Korol spotted it first) and we watched it in flight before
it landed in the now well-known field about 2km east of Tottenham Road
along 12th Line on the south side. The bird tended to stay off on it's own
but still near the big flock of approx 250 American Golden Plovers. Even
in flight it stayed to the edge of the big flock. Also there was 1 basic
plumaged Red Knot (very light grey compared to all other shorebirds in the
area), and one Dunlin. Also seen were several Pectoral & Least Sandpipers,
1 Semipalmated Sandpiper along with a few Semipalmated Plovers (these last
2 were seen on 11th Line just to the west of 10th Sideroad just north of
the town of Beeton).

Good birding,
Frank Pinilla

DIRECTIONS:
Beeton Sod farms lie on the sideroads & concessions just to the north of
the towns of Beeton and Tottenham. The best field (this year) has been
along 12th Line just east of Tottenham Road (and west of 10th Sideroad) on
the south side. Some smaller flocks on the 11th line on the north side
between Tottenham Rd and 10th Sideroad.
>From the south (GTA), go north on Hwy 400 and exit at Hwy 88 toward Bond
Head, turn right/north at Cty Rd 27 and then turn west on 8th Line toward
Beeton, then north up Tottenham or 10th Sdrd.
