warm and windy
Raptor Observations:
55 individuals of six species. Winds from SW prevented us from seeing more
birds. The approaching cold from from the NE also reduced the like hood of
seeing more birds. Most were 100 feet or more high. Several Sharpies dove
at the plastic owl.
Non-raptor Observations:
D-crested Cormorant-15, Common Gallinule-1, Killdeer-2, Caspian Tern-1,
Rock Pigeon-1, Mourning Dove-4, Chimney Swift-3, RT Hummingbird-18, B
Kingfisher-1, Red-headed Woodpecker-1, N. Rough-winged Swallow-3 (300
reported north by campground), Cedar Waxwing 20, House Finch-22, Am
Goldfinch-90.
Predictions:
Overcast in the morning, then partly cloudy. High of 73F/23C. Winds from
the NE at 10-15mph/16-24kmph.
Could be a very good flight of Ospreys, Sharp-shins, and Broad-wings.
