September 26 - beautiful sunny day with lots of fine folks for company ... 50 
species of birds including 1 Turkey Vulture, 1 Osprey, 2 Sharp-shinned Hawks, 1 
Cooper's Hawk, 2 Peregrines and 3 Merlins ... other birds: 211 Rusty Blackbirds 
(conservative count), 1 Great Egret, both yellowlegs, 1 Black-bellied Plover, 1 
Marsh Wren, 1 Tree Swallow.

Monarchs - 17

At Lynde Creek, I had 2 Long-billed Dowitchers, 1 Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Lesser 
Yellowlegs, 11 Killdeer, 6 Pectoral Sandpipers and 1 Least Sandpiper.

Directions: From Victoria St in Whitby go south on Halls Rd to the second
short walkway going east to the Cranberry Marsh Lookout. Lynde Creek crosses 
Bayly Street just east of Lynde Shores Conservation Area and can be accessed on 
foot via the path along the east side of the private road.
