ROSS'S GOOSE (1 adult) was found with CANADA GEESE at the Almonte Lagoon (from 
the viewing stand) on the 27th and 29th.

The SABINE'S GULL (1 adult) which was at the Ottawa River Deschenes Rapids 
since the 22nd was last reported on the 29th. 
 
EURASIAN WIGEON (1 male in eclipse plumage) was seen briefly on the 1st east of 
Andrew Haydon Park on Britannia Bay. 
 
NELSON'S SPARROW was last reported on the 29th (with a late adult MARSH WREN) 
but are likely still present in the wetland near the mouth of Constance Creek 
at the Ottawa River in Constance Bay east of the east end of Allbirch Rd.
Two were seen near the base of the Shirley's Bay dyke on the 28th and one was 
found near the Ottawa River at the north end of Scrivenes St on the 1st.
 
Increasing numbers of CANADA, CACKLING (including 12 Richardson's at Ottawa 
Beach on the 1st) and SNOW GEESE, including blue morph SNOW GEESE, continue to 
move into and through our area.  

Birds of interest at the Britannia Conservation Area (BCA) on the weekend of 
the 28th and 29th were AMERICAN REDSTART, PALM, PINE, TENNESSEE, NASHVILLE, 
NORTHERN PARULA, BLACK-THROATED GREEN and many YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, RED-EYED 
and BLUE-HEADED VIREO, AMERICAN WIGEON and RING-NECKED DUCK, RUBY-CROWNED and 
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER, INDIGO BUNTING, SONG, SWAMP, 
WHITE-THROATED and WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW.
 
At Ottawa Beach on the 1st there were RED-NECKED (6) and HORNED (1) GREBE, 
RING-NECKED DUCK, LESSER SCAUP (3), COMMON TERN (7), AMERICAN WIGEON (2), BLACK 
DUCK, MALLARD, BLUE-WINGED and GREEN-WINGED TEAL, NORTHERN PINTAIL (3), 
NORTHERN SHOVELER (1). The same day there was an AMERICAN COOT at Andrew Haydon 
Park west.   

Interesting sightings:
- CLAY-COLORED SPARROW (1) with CHIPPING SPARROWS at the Britannia Conservation 
Area on the 28th
- BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO (1) near the Giroux Rd ponds on the 28th
- SANDHILL CRANE (14) on the south side of Smith Rd west of Milton Rd on the 
29th
- WOOD THRUSH (1) seen at dusk on the track into the Shirley's Bay dyke on the 
1st
- Winter Wren (6) at Petrie Island on the 1st
- FIELD SPARROW (1) at the BCA on the 2nd
