I birded the spit on Saturday, October 5th between 9:45am and 1:45pm. The
level of bird activity was as high as I've ever seen it at the Spit in the fall
with kinglets and sparrows absolutely everywhere. Here are a few notable
sightings:

7 Sparrow Species:
Field - 1
Lincoln's - 3
Swamp - 5
White-throated - too many to count
White-crowned - 25
Song - 10
DE Junco - 8

6 Warbler Species:
Yellow-rumped - 50
Nashville - 15
Magnolia - 2
Common Yellowthroat - 2
Tennessee - 2
Palm - 3

Other notables:
4 Peregrine Falcons flying/playing together (likely one of the downtown family
groups but were too distant to age)
Sharp-shinned Hawk - 1
Red-tailed Hawk - 1
Turkey Vulture - 2
Winter Wren - 10
Hermit Thrush - 8
Blue-headed Vireo - 1
Brown Creeper - 2
Green-winged Teal - 1
Belted Kingfisher - 3
Yellow-belied Sapsucker - 9

Good Birding,
Iain

The Leslie St. Spit (Tommy Thompson Park) is located at the foot of Leslie St.
at Unwin Avenue in Toronto. There is a large gravel parking lot which, like
the park, is only open on weekends and holidays.
