Subject: [GeneseeBirds-L] More Brown Booby
By pure chance a group of birders present at Erie Basin Marina late this
afternoon got to head out on the lake and get some up close and personal looks
at the booby due to the good deed of a local boat owner/captain. The crew
included Buffalo News photog John Hitchcock, BOS president Tom O'Donnell, Chris
Hollister of Buffalo, Mike Tetlow and Dominic Sherony of Rochester. I also need
to thank Joe Mitchell and Andy Guthrie for land bound cell phone updates for
the crew while we were out on the water.
Its very clear the Booby has set up shop around Buffalo Harbor. The bird was
present late this afternoon on both the Reef Lighthouse and Donnelly's Wall.
Apparently it will go out to feed in the lake from morning thru early afternoon
and seems to return to the harbor structures by 1 pm at the earliest.
