Saw one Greater Black-backed gull on the south shore of Lake Simcoe this morning. He was unusually close (less than 10 metres from shore) siting on a large rock in the water. The location was Willow Beach on Lakeshore Road in Georgina, at the west side of the Park and public dock (across from the Convenience Store). Great opportunity to see this bird up close. A few generally do hang around here at this time of year, so good possibility of seeing them well, now.
