Hello Ontbirders,

The Hudsonian Godwit that was reported present yesterday at the Nonquon
Lagoons by Steve LaForest is still there this morning.

I saw it about 8:45 on the east side of the first cell along with 3
Yellowlegs and about 5 Pectoral. The rain made spotting/confirming it
difficult what with looking through steady rain and drops on the
binoculars.... it would be better if the rain lets up but it is still
there. The last that I saw of it, it flushed from the east side when the
Pectorals "panicked" and sent the Hudsonian and the Yellowlegs over to the
west side of cell 1.

To reach the lagoons, from Highway 401, take Simcoe St. (Oshawa) north to
Port Perry. At the north end of town, turn left (west) at the stoplights
onto Concession Road 8, cross Old Simcoe St. and proceed a short distance
to the lagoons, on the south side of the road. Note – do NOT follow
Regional Road 8 (the next road south of Concession 8). Note also that you
cannot access the lagoons from the west, because the bridge is permanently
out.
