Raptor Observations: None. Station closed after 2 hours and no end of rain in sight. Non-raptor Observations: There were a few passerines around the base of the hawk tower, but only 4 European Starlings actually flew west. Species observed include: Ruby-crowned Kinglet - 2; Song Sparrow - 3; Chipping Sparrow - 1; Dark-eyed Junco - 2; Rusty Blackbird - 24. Predictions: The rain is supposed to clear out overnight and Friday is forecasted to be "variable cloudy", with a steady temperature of 11C and winds out of the W at 30 - 40 km/hr. The Sharp-shinned Hawks should start flying again, and there are lots of Turkey Vultures in the area waiting for the right winds. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Todd Pepper ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
