Glaucous-winged Gull (Larus glaucescens) (1) - Reported Nov 08, 2013 09:02 by Ryan Dziedzic - Lighthouse Park, St. Clair, Michigan - Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&q=43.007095,-82.4219549&ll=43.007095,-82.4219549 - Checklist: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S15615430 - Comments: "Gull with a large, solidly-colored black bill, a buff plumage color with primaries distinctly matching the color of the body feathers, and pinkish legs. The bird was initially associating with Ring-billed and Herring Gulls (being larger than both species, the Herring Gulls only slightly so) loafing on the breakwall. The bird was last observed dropping out of site into the boat launch of the US Coast Guard Station area with a multitude of Bonaparte's Gulls. The bird's overall size and beak size eliminates Thayer's or Iceland Gull as prospects; Glaucous Gull eliminated due to all black bill and primary feather tip colors matching other body feathers."

Highlights of the bird included a large, solidly-colored black bill, a buff plumage color with primaries distinctly matching the color of the body feathers, and pinkish legs.
